Under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the role entails the following responsibilities:
- Placing purchase orders and maintaining communication with suppliers;
- Managing change management activities until the delivery of the initial unit and ensuring adherence to the product development schedule with external manufacturing suppliers;
- Effectively managing and influencing suppliers to meet on-time delivery goals at the best possible cost;
- Supplier management (sourcing): Crafting quotes, drafting contracts, and evaluating suppliers;
- Identifying and actively participating in improvement projects while cultivating and enhancing the business relationship with the supplier base;
- Cultivating and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure customer satisfaction while optimizing quality, time, and costs for the organization;
- Participating in cost reduction initiatives in accordance with established objectives;
- Adhering to procurement procedures and overseeing the process of returning materials to suppliers;
- Performing all other associated tasks.
You should hold a minimum of a college diploma (DEC) in procurement or a university degree in a related field, coupled with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Excel and the ability to navigate an ERP system are essential. Being bilingual in both spoken and written French and English is a requirement.
