I'm currently working with one of my clients in the manufacturing sector. Located in the west end of Montreal, this company is looking for a manufacturing buyer of raw materials and industrial components.
Main responsibilities :
• Keep sales teams informed of the impact of any changes on deliveries to avoid service level disruptions.
• Maintain the database and parameters in SAP.
• Procure raw materials, components, and other necessary supplies to support demand.
• Monitor orders with suppliers, confirm delivery dates, and ensure order priorities are met.
• Analyze exception messages and process them: schedule, prioritize, make date changes, etc.
• Negotiate the best price, delivery times with internal specifications.
• Handle returns of goods to suppliers and/or resolve billing and supply issues.
• Identify potential or actual bottlenecks and coordinate issue resolution.
• Keep the planning and sales representatives informed of the impact of any changes on deliveries to avoid disruptions in service levels.
• Maintain the database and parameters in SAP.
• Contribute to the development of new ideas regarding cost reduction and continuous improvement of the procurement process.
Prerequisites, training and skills :
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Skills in spoken and written French and English
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement/supply chain and familiarity with
manufacturing processes and materials.
• Proficient in Excel (database analysis, VLOOKUP, dynamic tables), Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience of ERP/MRP with SAP is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills with of achieving cost savings in procurement activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong supplier
relationships.
• Results-oriented and solutions-oriented.
• Ability to prioritize, analyze and solving problem in a fast-paced environment is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
PROCESS: Initial interview with Gabriel Lemoine, Fed Supply Recruitment Consultant - followed by an interview with the company's Human Resources Manager and Position Manager.
