One of our clients specializing in transportation, located on the North Shore of Montreal, is looking for a maritime import coordinator.
This customer service item is for sea import. Reporting to the Customer Service Director, here are the responsibilities:
* Build strong relationships and partnerships with customers in the field.
* Understand and anticipate business and operational needs and react accordingly.
* Monitor bookings and ensure pre-alerts are received from agents and addressed in a timely manner.
* Ensure efficient and effective communication with agents and customers to provide them with shipping information and instructions.
* Overseas communications: manage documentation requests, shipment tracking, schedules and other information, ensure shipment departure deadlines are met and provide updates as needed
* After Hours Support: Check emails, assist agents and customers with reservations and last minute changes.
* Verify data and enter customer information into the system as needed.
* Communicate with customers and open files in the system.
* Communicate reservation confirmations/instructions to the agent.
* Ensure that customer profiles and their specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) are maintained and adhered to.
* Perform other general office duties
* College diploma or equivalent
* Relevant expertise: minimum 5 years of experience in freight operations
* Knowledge of Cargo Wise, an asset
* Ability to multi-task, organize, lead, motivate and teach
* Thorough understanding of international trade and business practices
* Ability to negotiate and build strong business relationships
* Strong problem solving skills, ability to identify root causes and find win/win solutions
* Bilingual (French/English), an asset
